I had the opportunity of discussing the trials and tribulations of developing biomarkers into clinically relevant products with the researchers of I3S, the largest Biomedical Research Institution in Portugal, during they annual retreat. It was fun to meet old friends, make new ones, and experience the most intense almost-until-dawn karaoke session. I’m told that what happens in Póvoa do Varzim, stays in Póvoa do Varzim, so no pics shared, but it was super cool at all levels. It is also great to see all the progress, scientifically and in terms of application to real world problems that is happening at I3S.
